Nick Torre is a junior public policy major at the University of Maryland. On Monday nights from twelve a.m. to two a.m., he can be found in the campus radio station, WMUC, hosting his weekly radio show, "The Jack and Crack Witching Hour."
On Wednesday, Feb. 12, Torre filled in for a fellow student who could not make it to the station. He played a range of alternative genres, from emo ballads to punk to metal.
Torre adjusts the levels of his microphone and the music on the sound board.
The WMUC record library is two floors with a spiral staircase, and has thousands of records for students to peruse at any time. It is open 24/7 to anyone with access to the WMUC station.
Torre plays the record for the audience of one person: the Streamripper program, which records the audio so it can be archived on the WMUC website.
