My great-grandmother, Hristina Athanasakis, who was born in a village in Crete, Greece on July 31, 1930. She immigrated to the United States 1972 with her husband and kids, worked her whole life and taught me Greek. Now, she has pretty bad tremors and dementia and she needs 24/7 care. She was always active in her life, but can't do too much anymore.
Here, my grandma realized I was taking pictures and wanted to fix her hair with her shaky hands.
My great-grandmother has always been and continues to be a happy person, so here she is smiling.
