The UMD Language House SLLC hosted a multillingual poetry open mic night at St.Mary's Hall on Sep. 21. Students, professors and staff shared poems from many different languages and cultures including Spanish, Hebrew, Persian and more.

Henson Week featured different activities around campus to celebrate Jim Henson's birthday. For this event, students tie dyed Henson-themed shirts on a blue tarp outside of Samuel L. Riggs Alumni Center, and there were also snacks provided when they were finished.

The event I covered was the University of Maryland's Farmers Market. This event is hosted during fall and spring on Wednesdays from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. There are many different vendors each week who sell produce, fresh baked goods, and clothing.
A vendor sells produce at the University of Maryland Farmers Market on Sept. 23. The university hosts its weekly farmers market on Wednesday where it sells fresh fruits and vegetables at Tawes Plaza Garden.
