Something I admire most about my close friend Monelli is her strong connection to her Iranian culture. Though she was born and raised in the U.S., she goes out of her way to engage with her heritage by attending numerous cultural events on campus, wearing clothes and accessories that hint at her background and learning more about the country's history. She could be included in a fun feature for any campus publication about how students (international or not) connect with their cultures on campus while being away from home.
