This is Mila Mann. She is a freshman here at the University of Maryland. However, she originally was not supposed to be here. Last February, Mila received her admission decision from the school thanking her for her application. As she continued to read, she realized that she was rejected. Instead of accepting this answer, she appealed her decision. Mila wrote an essay explaining why the University of Maryland was the school for her and why she would be of value as a student here. The original decision was reversed, and Mila was offered Spring admission. I decided to photograph what a day in the life is like here on campus for Mila because although she faced adversity it didn't stop her from getting what she wanted.
