This is Max McEnelly. McEnelly plays for the Minnesota Wrestling team. I chose to photograph him because he was a true freshman who went from “new kid in the Big Ten” to NCAA All‑American, Big Ten Freshman of the Year, and U20 world champion at 86 kg all in the same year. A story like this could be picked up by Sports Illustrated. In addition to his sports accolades, his academic honors are another stand point—CSC Academic All‑District, NWCA Scholar All‑American, and Academic All‑Big Ten. This shows discipline, time management, and balance in his life.
