Photo Assignment 4, Savinelli

Aspiring photographer Kate Savinelli, 18, snaps a self portrait in front of a circular mirror in her freshman dorm room. She holds a lighter in one hand to add a warm glow to the photograph.
Water droplets fall onto a circular mirror in a freshman dorm room in Ellicott Hall. The contrast between the light from the window and the mirror illuminates the droplets.
Fading sunlight casts a shadow over a fire safety alarm on the eighth floor of Ellicott Hall. The sunset can be seen through the hallway's window nearly every day.
Hunter Willis, 18, finishes off a can of soda on the eighth floor's study room at the Hotel at the University of Maryland. Reflected laptops, water bottles, and homework clutter the desk as he completes Sunday night assignments.
An unlit candle stands in front of a desk lamp in a dorm room in Ellicott Hall. The previous day, candles were used to celebrate the birthday of freshman Julia Strauch, 19.
