The following portraits are of Jeannie Cronise, a freshman art student at the University of Maryland and successful small-business owner (DesignedbyJeannie) with over 3,000 sales on Etsy and over 20,000 sales on Redbubble. I thought that taking photos of her is important because I feel that the arts are overlooked and underfunded, and sometimes artists face barriers to their careers. I think this would be good for a feature style story that The Diamondback or another campus news publication could run to amplify student artists at our school.
