Pictured in these photos is one of my dorm roommates, John. He is a sophomore at the University of Maryland majoring in animal science. I captured these shots when he was playing video games at around 7:30pm on a Thursday. During these gaming sessions much of his personality can be seen just watching him and his immediate surroundings. The lighting of the room at night along with the overhead view of John captures the solidarity of gaming and how quiet and peaceful the hobby can be. The view of John at his desk reveals many of his other quirks and hobbies, including collecting figurines (the Pokemon Lego), live-streaming on the Internet (microphone) and drinking Mountain Dew. John throwing up his hand in the middle of gaming in frustration highlights the emotions that the hobby can bring out.
