I put together a sports photography kit. The R7’s 30 frames per second shutter made it an attractive buy, as did its similar look and layout to the Rebel T7, which I’ve used for almost three years. The R3’s versatility – specifically its vertical grip – set it apart as a reliable second option. My RF 24-70 lens lets me capture the action from up close, while the RF 70-200 and the 1.4x extender have me covered when I’m further away. Altogether, my arsenal will help me shoot game action, interactions among players, coaches and fans, stadium scenery, etc. Each camera and lens is backed by a two-year protection plan. I went for a handful of SD cards with decent storage over one card with lots of storage in case one card malfunctions. Buying a monopod instead of a tripod makes it easier to move around during the game – I’ve found that it can be a hassle to collapse a tripod when you need to move suddenly. I was going to purchase a full Adobe subscription before I realized that all I really used were Lightroom and Photoshop, so I opted for the cheaper package that Adobe offered.
