Build Your Camera Kit- Keefe

As I get more into the photography world, I realize that the photographer I want to be is a versatile one. I am drawn to sports photography as it is exciting and unpredictable, but I also want the equipment to be able to jump in and cover any event as a true photojournalist. I decided to stick with Canon products because they are well distinguished and I have become comfortable using them throughout this semester in my internship. I chose lenses and bodies that give me the ability to capture varying photos at a moment's notice. The two camera bodies are strong and reliable, and I have also included an extra battery grip for the R6 so I can stay in the field for longer. I chose lenses that both have f/2.8 as it gives the photos a unique crispness. These lenses have the aspects that make them perfect for both sports and pre/post-game photos, as well as covering other events as a photojournalist. The monopod I chose is light and easy to carry, as Professor Jacobsen noted last class with his carbon fiber monopod. The backpack I chose has a perfect spot for my laptop and has spots for all of my equipment so I can have everything on the go. This backpack is also well known for being durable yet lightweight. I chose varying equipment that will help to improve my photo quality as well as help me transfer photos while on the go. I also included a rain cover and extra batteries for long days when my camera needs some extra love. Lastly, I included Creative Cloud as my software for editing. I found that this was extremely important for a camera kit because the editing software is vital for a finished product.
