I photographed my husband's 97-year-old grandmother, Virginia "Ginna" Mittauer. Ginna sat me down after I photographed her and spent two hours telling me stories of her childhood and early career years, from growing up during the Great Depression to her brother's experiences in WWII. She also named every single boyfriend she had before she got married and why she got tired of them.
