The outdoor pool has opened up again! UMD students flood the space, take up the sunbeds to tan, and even jump in the water. I think the Diamondback could potentially write an article about the pool's opening and its popularity. Its target audience would be UMD students.

As finals are approaching, students begin scrabbling to study for their exams. These photos have journalistic integrity because they capture the reality of college students near the end of the semester. Each student has a different perspective and approach to finals. Such images can provide visual evidence of academic life, student behavior, or educational environments, thereby enhancing the credibility and reliability of the reporting. These images align with the journalistic principles of accuracy, fairness, and responsibility by capturing real moments in educational settings.

Photos from Maryland Day have journalism merit because they document a major community event at the University of Maryland. Outlets like The Diamondback, other campus publications and local newspapers would publish them in coverage of campus life and events. This year, the event featured 400 free activities, with thousands in attendance, according to Streetcar Suburbs news.
Zwirn - Assignment 11
These images of UMD students playing Spikeball could be used in a piece written by an on-campus publication about what students do in their free time outside of doing classwork. The images show students spending time outside enjoying the nice weather instead of being inside playing video games. The target audience for this article would be incoming students to UMD to show them some of the different things that students do with their friends.

While Lake Artemesia is the more famous body of water in College Park, University of Maryland students are missing one right under there noses: Campus Creek. The mile long body of water runs in to the Anacostia River and has a significant effect on the Chesapeake Bay. Dangers to the creek, such as urban flooding and erosion have caused the university to react in creating restoration projects and management plans for the creek. UMD and mother nature now work closely together in saving the environment.
